ABOUT

Umbra is a quarterly tabloid on screen culture published by Lightcube out of Noida, India. Its pages feature major developments in the sectors of film preservation, film archiving, film society activism, funding for alternative films and film literature. Its focus is to establish a broad narrative or a lineage between the state of these areas in the past and their condition in the present. To this aim, Umbra runs a number of interviews, essays, program notes, festival coverage, listings and annotated filmographies in its issues.

SUBSCRIBE

Subscription to four annual issues of Umbra is available in two versions - the traditional medium of print, wherein a copy will be mailed to you by post, and digital, where a password will allow you to access your copy of Umbra. While individuals may select either mode of subscription, we recommend that institutions subscribe to both, to store a physical copy within their library as also to distribute the e-copy to their students. The issues of Umbra are open only to subscribers; but the first issue is free.
